Help us serve our energy burdened community members-
Donate now to support Equitable Solar Solutions' growing program
Our Equitable Solar Solutions program is growing and needs your support. ESS works to create more just and sustainable energy solutions that benefit disadvantaged communities through reuse of solar energy systems. This fall, we’re amplifying the impact that ESS has on the Gunnison valley by working with the Gunnison Country Food Pantry (GCFP) to install a solar array to power their new building. By reducing the energy costs that the GCFP must spend to keep the lights on, we’re supporting their mission to ensure that no one goes hungry in Gunnison County.
Coldharbour is seeking additional support to continue expanding ESS’s impact. As our projects grow, we need more equipment and funding to take in larger donations and serve more energy burdened households and organizations. Our specific needs include:
- Thermal drone for inspecting large solar arrays
- Handheld solar irradiance meters, solar panel testers and low-cost infrared cameras
- Safety equipment including full-body harnesses, carabiners, ascenders, Class 0 electrical gloves and safety glasses.
- Funding for transporting equipment, additional insurance needs, etc.
To raise awareness of EES, IT equipment recycler Morris Scott is fundraising for us as he traverses eastern Europe on a bicycle tour. Scott is following the route traveled by his father-in-law, Daryle Stuckey, who was a B-17 bomber pilot based in Italy in WWII. On his 28th mission, Daryle's plane went down over Czechoslovakia. He was captured and marched between prisoner of war camps before being liberated towards the end of the war.
